Artefacts that were given to the Salisbury and South Wiltshire Museum in 1975 from The Treasury from Pitt-Rivers' second collection which cannot be matched to the catalogue:

SBYWM:1B2.5 'Hafted, flaked stone axe (Kodja) set in resin from the Xanthorrhoea tree, a common grass tree. These stone axes are only made by the Nyungar people in the South West of Western Australia'. Information from John Stanton, Berndt Museum of Anthropology, University of Western Australia. This item was displayed in Dreaming the Dreaming: The Kurrir Kurrir dance boards of the Eastern Kimberley exhibition held May - June 2006 at Salisbury. The axe has a width of 5 cm and a haft width of 1 cm [There do not appear to be any axes listed in the catalogue from Australia (or any other similar objects)][It is of course possible that this item (and others in this section of the website, were obtained after 1900 by George Pitt-Rivers or someone else]

SBYWM:1B3.2 Stone Gouge, 18.5 cm long, 4.5 cm wide;  SBYWM:1B3.3 Stone chisel, 17 cm long, 4.8 cm wide; SBYWM:1B3.4 Stone spearhead, 9 cm long, 3.2 cm wide; SBYWM:1B3.5 Stone tanged spearhead, 11 cm long, 2.8 cm wide described by Jonathan King from the British Museum as probably being from Maritime Archaic c 8000-2000 BC; SBYWM:1B3.43 Small polished arrowhead, 4.2 cm long, 1.2 cm wide; possibly also SBYWM:1B3.44 another arrowhead (though the entry here doesn't mention Bridges)  all from Newfoundland, Canada, apparently obtained by Colonel Bridges, Newfoundland. He gave them to Pitt Rivers in November 1883 (there is no record of such a donation in the catalogue).

SBYWM:1B3.66 A polished stone axe also obtained by Comrie length 18.5 cm width 8.5 cm. SBYWM:1B3.67 Polished stone axe from Woodlark Island obtained by Comrie. SBYWM:4.397 Weight for digging stick from New Guinea collected by Dr Comrie.
Note that there are items from Comrie in the founding collection but none listed from him in the catalogue of the second collection
