The sale on 1-3 June 1876 was described in its frontispiece as

'Catalogue of Greek, Roman, English and Foreign Coins and Medals collected by G.B. Baker ... to which are added some very fine specimens of Roman ... collected by the late George Finlay ... also a few Bactrian tetradrchms, some war medals in silver, patterns and proofs, Oxford pound piece, siege coins, five guinea pieces, Terra cotta vases, ancient glass, bronze statuettes, cameos, intaglios, gold jewels, coin cabinets &c which will be sold at auction by Messrs Sotheby, Wilkinson and Hodge ... On Thursday the 1st of June 1876 and Two following Days at One O'Clock precisely.

The annotated auctioneer's sale catalogue, of which the Pitt Rivers Museum has a photocopy of the set held by the Bodleian, suggests that Fox did not purchase any of the 43 lots of 'Antiquities found in the Island of Cyprus' on one of these days (there is no mention of Cesnola in connection to this sale.
